SKILLS NEEDED

For showband work, where the emphasis is on accompanying the shows, very good sight reading skills are compulsory. In other words, you must be able to flawlessly perform the shows at night in front of an audience after only one run-through rehearsal in the afternoon. You must be able to work well under pressure. This is a difficult position and candidates must have a lot of reading experience. Ship experience is also a plus.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Bass players: electric bass;

Drummers: cymbals, bass pedal, sticks & brushes;

Trumpet players: trumpet & flugelhorn, plus standard mutes;

Trombone players: standard mutes;

Sax players: Tenor and/or Alto, Clarinet & Flute;

Piano players may be asked on occasion to provide their own keyboard.
